What is high potential and gifted education?
High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) is how our school supports students with advanced learning needs.
We do this through:
- effective teaching strategies like enrichment, extension and acceleration
- tailored support during lessons that stretch, challenge and inspire
- access to a wide range of opportunities both within and beyond our school.

Opportunities in the creative domain for high potential and gifted students include participation in competitions, festivals and workshops. These experiences nurture their ability to develop imagination, critical thinking and creativity.
Opportunities in the intellectual domain
High potential and gifted students have opportunities to engage in high-quality differentiated learning inside the classroom to challenge their thinking and deepen their understanding of concepts, and outside the classroom through competitions, workshops extra-curricular activities. These diverse experiences foster a passion for lifelong learning.

Opportunities in the physical domain for high potential and gifted students include sports programs, training, and challenges. These activities help nurture their talents, improve their performance, and foster discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
Opportunities in the social-emotional domain
Opportunities in the social-emotional domain for high potential and gifted students focus on developing their self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal skills through leadership roles and group activities. These experiences support their ability to manage emotions, build meaningful relationships, and navigate social challenges confidently.
